At Domus Socolatae, sustainability is much more than a word: it is a way of living in the present and looking to the future.
It is the common thread that connects architectural, energy, social, and ethical choices.
It is a philosophy that starts with respect — for the historic villa that hosts us, for the Maremma territory, for every person who passes through our rooms.
After a thorough conservative restoration (2021–2022), the Residence has been transformed into a place where tradition and innovation meet, giving life to authentic and responsible hospitality.
Our concrete actions for environmental sustainability:
- Original historic floors and furnishings recovered and restored
- Eco-design with family furniture and antique materials renovated by local artisans
- Winter garden with eco-pergola and zero-kilometer breakfasts
Photovoltaic and solar system for energy and hot water - Smart home automation to optimize consumption and privacy
- Plastic eliminated (steel dispensers, glass bottles, filtered water dispensers)
- Water recycling in toilets and LED lighting
- Electric car charging station
- Photovoltaic lifting platform to eliminate architectural barriers
- Chromotherapy, massages, Jacuzzi in the garden for psycho-physical well-being
- Imprendigreen Confcommercio 2023 certification and Soroptimist Sustainability Award
Inclusion and respect for diversity
At Domus Socolatae every person matters, in a shared growth journey, based on equality, dignity and human beauty:
- Non-EU collaborators involved in sustainable projects also in Africa, through Rosa Iridis Onlus Association
- Hospitality open to the LGBT world, with LGBT micro-weddings and personalized ceremonies
- Qualification as “municipal house” for intimate and meaningful celebrations
Certified and discreet security
Welcoming also means protecting. For this reason we adopt a certified sanitization protocol with:
- Accurate sanitization of environments with PPE and ACCREDIA certified technologies
- Supervision by industrial hygienist no. EC3719030142 and toxicologist biologist
- Home automation access control, Alexa devices in rooms, self check-in available upon request
- Constant updates according to WHO guidelines, Ministry of Health and local health authorities
